Welcome to Morpeth Baptist Church, Northumberland

MBC has been meeting at Abbeyfields School, Morpeth, since 1989. We’re affiliated with the Baptist Union and the Evangelical Alliance.

At MBC we recognise that everyone is different. Some of us have been Christians for many years. Others are simply exploring what it means to have faith in Jesus. We don’t pretend one style of Sunday service ‘scratches where it itches’ for everyone. Therefore we have a group of preachers and service leaders who lead us in a variety of styles. One thing is consistent: our love for Jesus; our desire to follow His teachings; and our commitment to loving each other in the church, and those who aren’t. We want you to feel at home with us. Intrigued? Then come and see what it’s all about.

We gather each Sunday at 10:30 for fellowship and we gather for the service at 10:45. The service ends around 12 o’clock. We have time for coffee and chat at the end. Some people also gather at 10am for a more contemplative time of prayer and worship, and we also have homegroups that run during the week.

We are pleased to announce the recent appointment of John Cooper as our pastor in training for 3 years from September 2016.

Please contact us if you would like more information.

God Squad - Xstream (8-11 years)

Children aged 8 to 11 like to have fun! They like to be with their friends and are growing increasingly independent. Most still like the opportunity to play games and to be creative, but they will shy away from anything that feels too babyish. Their capacity to learn is enormous and most can read quite well. Feed their imaginations with Xstream and allow them space to ask the questions about the things that younger children take for granted. Xstream encourages 8 to 11s to live their daily lives for God

Just Looking?

If you’re new to church, this is something you might find helpful. We’ll be exploring the foundations of the Christian faith together each Sunday in a relaxed, informal style. This is the place where you can ask those questions you always wanted to ask. We’re friendly, we want to help and we don’t bite. Why not come and meet us?

Fancy a Coffee?

At MBC we recognise that everyone is different. Some of us have been Christians for many years. Others are simply exploring what it means to have faith in Jesus. We don’t pretend one style of Sunday service ‘scratches where it itches’ for everyone. So we’re developing an exciting new approach. Our cafe is the hub. Sit down, enjoy a coffee. We want you to feel at home with us. Intrigued? Then come and see what it’s all about.
